Wild and Crazy

I love this garden at this time of year. It is totally filled in and probably a haven for snakes but really colorful. It's right off my driveway so I walk by it on the way to and from the car. It needs virtually no weeding all summer because it is so full. The Rudbeckia Goldstrum come back each year from the root but the taller Rudbeckia triloba re-seeds itself. It lands here and there and I leave a lot of them to grow in odd places. It's fun.

This beebalm (Monarda Mahagony) blooms later than the red variety at work. It's shorter too. Beebalm is great for attracting hummingbirds. Can you see the green tree frog on the stem?
