Yummy Squash

 Squash is such an easy plant to grow as long as the bugs that love it are not around. The spring crop produced one loan yellow squash before it wilted and died from the squash bugs. Sometime in late July I planted more seed. It took 5 days of watering faithfully but it came up and is now doing well. We've eaten two so far but it seems like we'll have more.

Butternut squash is not an attractive plant but produces abuntantly. It keeps for months and so many cool season recipes call for it. I like it plain, baked with butter. Can't wait until it's ready.
