Flowers in Bloom

Flowers are blooming right now weeks ahead of usual. The Louisiana iris in my gardens are normally blooming towards the end of April. I love to use them in the bouquet on the food table at Blue Moon Gardens Open House the last Saturday of April. How funny to see them blooming along with the azaleas and roses now.
The Jewels of Opar and Celosia have already germinated and they are at least a month ahead of schedule. Usually it takes until early May for the ground to warm up but with the mild winter the soil is already warm.
It's interesting to me that every year is so different. Nature is definately in charge and we are merely observers. How fun!
