Deanne's rug class

For the last month, Deanne Fitzpatrick offered an online rug hooking class. It was called Getting Wild with Style and was all about design. It was fascinating and Deanne has a lovely way of helping open your eyes to the world around you. Developing style takes time and as she points out making rugs all the time is key. I so enjoy hooking mats. It's a fun way to get in touch with color and designing them is challenging.

Our lesson included using words which are rather dififcult to hook. I have not figured that out well yet. I love doing flowers though.

We were also assigned the task of a self portrait. Wow, now there is a toughy! OK so it doesn't look exactly like me but I am trying. I'll post it again when I have it all done and we'll see if she gets any better looking.

Tomorrow is cookie making day though. With Christmas coming soon there are lots of fun things to do.
