My friend Tana invited me to go with her to a local quilting shop last week. She just knew that I would get excited about this new quilt everyone there was making and want to make one too. My husband just groaned when I came home with another project. I picked out two fabrics both with horse prints. I am not really into horses I just liked the colors. The quilt will be made from the two fabrics.
Tana and Verina who owns this great shop in Mixon cut out the strips. The patterns had to be matched identically six times. Tana cut vertically and Verina cut horizontally so it was fascinating to see both approaches. I was completely lost at that point because I wasn't really sure what the end result was supposed to be.
Once the strips were cut I was able to make 3 and 3/4 inch triangles out of all the fabric.
Now it is a matter of sewing the 81 stacks into designs that I like.
Then I will have to decide how to place them in the finished quilt top. It has been really fun and I can't wait to see how it will turn out.
ANOTHER talent! Look forward to seeing more. One of these days, I must meet your friend, Tana. I always wanted my name to be spelled like hers. ;)
