Summer may not be official but it certainly has arrived here in Texas. Daytimes in the mid 90's feel quite oppressive. Up until this week the weather was exceptionally mild and the plants really show the effects of a rainy spring. It's been such a pleasure. The daylilies are especially lush and blooming nicely.
It's so fun to see what color daylilies are in my gardens this season. Mary gave me clumps to add to my collection last year of some really old plants. She dug them out of a garden that had gotten too shady and hadn't had supplemental water in years. So it's a complete surprise when they bloom. I think I've lucked out though because the colors are working well where they are planted.
How beautiful, I love garden surprises!
