More of my Vacation

I spent one day at Upper Canada Village while on vacation. It is a working mid-1800's recreated village. While the people who work there share history and educate you, they grind wheat, bake bread, make cheese, saw wood, spin wool, quilt, make corn brooms, grow vegetables etc. It was a fabulous place. Twenty three members of the family went. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and the day was perfect.

My favorite part was the building with the loom. I loved the smell in there of old wood, and fiber.

They sold the blankets they made in their gift shop. I bought a small bag of their prepared roving to spin into yarn and dye one day.

The grounds were well maintained and of course the plants lush and so green.
