As the Leaves Fall

Of course I know fall is not here. It's still 100 degrees every day. But the leaves are falling in my driveway in mass and to keep my sanity I must think fall is around the corner. It's nearly time for mums and pumpkins and cornstalks and kale and cabbage and gourds and cooler temps.

It's also time for pumpkins mats. This is the first. The next one will be a white pumpkin and then I may move on to the gigantic harvest rug I started two years ago. That one is going to involve some ripping out because I don't like what I was doing. I think I have a better idea now of where to take it so I am trying to psyche myself up for the project. One thing at a time.

In the meantime, I will continue to think fall. Apples are good again and pears are in season. It's coming!

  3. Oh, your talk of fall has me yearning for those cooler temps and all the lovely colors that come with them. Love the idea of a white pumpkin in your design.

  4. I'm still chuckling over your comment. Evan always asks me in an almost dismayed voice WHY I continue to knit on the plane because I almost always have to rip it out! LOL! I tell him it is to calm myself and I'm going to keep on doing it. ;)

  5. How funny about the leaves! I noticed them falling like rain this morning in our backyard. "Cooler weather" is a great mantra...
