My sister and family came to visit last week. It's always a treat to spend any time together. She lives far up in the state of New York, so a couple of times a year we get a few days of quality time. Since we both love to knit, crochet and hook rugs, we share patterns and yarn and wool. One of us always starts a new project immediately.
This time it was Donna. She saw the crochet blanket I was working on and had to begin one of her own. It's a long drive back home, so perfect for a nice crochet project. It's the same blanket my friend Laura made (beehiverugs.blogspot.com). A simple, colorful blanket and fun to make.
We dyed wool for her future pumpkin rug. It was neat because we used the odd scraps of wool she had in shades of tan. We had no idea what to expect but the results were good.
The wool is ready to wash and dry. She has several shades of orange and some nice browns for highlights. We also color planned for a rug she was starting for her kitchen floor. She went home happy and inspired, ready to accomplish her projects.
Sharon, it is so wonderful that you and your sister can share the experience of creating together and inspiring one another. Makes family time especially fun! Your nephew is a handsome young man.
